Aircraft Maintenance & Training School And World Class Aviation Academy

Motivated by our passion for aviation and education, we are helping to secure the aviation sector's future.

We offer technical training courses and education in the field of aircraft maintenance. The Aircraft Maintenance & Training School (AM&TS) provides EASA-certified MBO-level (senior secondary-level) basic vocational training in aerospace engineering for young students with ambitions of entering the aviation industry. The World Class Aviation Academy (WCAA) is targeted at professionals who are already working in the aviation sector, providing training courses that focus on particular types of aircraft as well as aviation-related courses such as Technical English or Human Factors. Together the two institutions also offer professionals refresher modules taken from the certified basic training.

Evolved from ambition

The AM&TS has in fact been based in Hoogerheide for many years, having evolved from the former Fokker college. Faced with an increasing shortage of technicians – in particular aviation technicians – both in the Netherlands and Europe, and driven by the ambition to transform the Netherlands into a leading country in terms of aircraft maintenance, the idea to embark on commercial activities was formed back in 2009. The ROC West-Brabant supported this ambition, and in collaboration with the Dutch Institute World Class Maintenance and Aviolanda Woensdrecht, a new educational

centre was opened in Hoogerheide in which both the AM&TS and the WCAA could work together. Currently employing some 35 permanent members of staff between us plus a further 20 instructors on a project basis, we help to ensure the availability of sufficient and above all well-qualified aerospace mechanics and engineers – thus helping to secure the aviation sector's future too.

Senior secondary-level aerospace engineering in the Netherlands

Aerospace training and education courses within Europe are certified by the EASA body. The AM&TS is approved to provide certified basic training courses in aerospace engineering (EASA Part 147). The AM&TS is currently involved in training students from the Markiezaat College in Bergen op Zoom. In the long term, it is AM&TS's ambition to improve the standards of senior secondary-level technical aerospace education in the Netherlands as a whole by extending the provision of its EASA-certified training to the country's four other relevant educational institutions (MBO College Airport, ROC Deltion, ROC Tilburg and Leeuwenborgh Opleidingen).

Driven by passion for aviation

At the World Class Aviation Academy, we have a diverse customer base that includes local, national and international clients. Our first ever customer was the Chilean Air Force, for whom we spent six months of 2010 providing an F-16 Type training course for 75 of its engineers. We are also honoured to be working for our close neighbours Fokker Elmo and Fokker Aircraft Services: for both companies, we conducted an analysis of their internal training requirements before working closely with them to design tailor-made training courses and educational sessions to meet their specific needs.
